Waterbury Palace Theater & Performing Arts Magnet School, Waterbury, CT
This project included the renovations and selective demolition of the four story, 38,016 sq. ft. Palace Theater; selective demolition for the historic preservation of vintage lighting, decorative ceilings, façade, and other architectural features.
We erected staging and shoring together with the installation of suspended staging, gave us access above decorative ceilings. The architecturally significant façade was maintained for reuse through structural bracing while other structural elements behind the façade were demolished.
As the building was in extreme state of disrepair, special concerns were given to structural deficiencies to ensure that no unplanned collapses occurred. Stamford Wrecking also performed cleaning and removal of lead hazardous dust, the removal of roofing materials and asbestos.
