Lead (Pb) is a metal that was used in a wide variety of building materials such as: water piping and solder, lead sheathing and in certain paint as a mold inhibitor. The adverse health effects to the human body associated with lead exposure include harm to the circulatory and nervous systems. Serious long term impacts to particular children including mental development are quite prevalent. In accordance with applicable laws, lead must be identified prior to being disturbed by renovation or demolition activities.
