Replacement of the Utility Bridge over the Quinnipiac River, Southington, CT
This unique and detailed bridge project required the installation of a new bridge and then the subsequent demolition of the original bridge. This work occurred while the twin 20" water mains that run from a reservoir to the treatment facility remained active.
The new structure was constructed over and between the existing structures continuously supporting the twin mains. Once fully supported off the new bridge, the existing truss structure was removed, service was never interrupted.
